My bus is delayed

If your bus is late, we will send you an SMS or an e-mail.

You can also track your bus via our online tracking tool.

Please remember that when you select a bus route, you are shown the corresponding local time and the duration of the trip. Time changes are always taken into account.

Tracking bus punctuality

Track your trip by entering departure/arrival stop or your booking number.

Finding my bus stop

To locate your bus stop, search by your origin on the bus stop location page or simply type the city you are travelling from in the "search city" field and then scroll down to the page to find the list of stations available for that location.

If you use your App click on "Station locations", scroll down to search city, enter the bus stop name or the city and you will get the bus stops list in that area.

The individual bus bay for each ride can only be found at the bus stop or station (usually on the big screens).

If you need your bus/connection number check it in your booking confirmation email and underneath the departure station indicated on your ticket.

Documents needed for travel

We strongly recommend bringing a valid government-issued photo ID (e.g. identity card or passport) when travelling on both national and international routes.

You may be asked to present your ID when boarding, in addition to the booking confirmation.

While ID may not be needed to board the bus, it could be required at other points during the journey (e.g. during police checks).

Additionally, for cross-border trips:

It is mandatory to bring all the necessary documents and identification papers with you.

Please be aware of:

  1. any regulations related to passports, visas, foreign currency, and health. You can find information on these regulations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or from the Federal Police of your country;
  2. any applicable customs regulations.

Also remember that your travel luggage should only contain goods that are exempt from duty, and your luggage should not be locked to help speed up customs clearance. It should be labeled with your name and address to ensure that there are no luggage mix-ups.

For questions related to customs regulations, please get in touch with the central customs authority of your country.

FlixBus is not liable for any consequences resulting from a passenger’s failure to carry or show the necessary travel documents.

Travelling to the EU

Entry/Exit System (EES)

Non-EU nationals, meaning travellers for a short stay who do not hold the nationality of any European Union country or the nationality of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland, must register each time they cross the external borders of any European country. Check the full list of the countries for which the entry/exit system is in place.

This registration will happen at the time of the ticket purchase.

Does the EES regulation apply to me?

To understand whether this is applicable to you, check the latest updates on the EES regulation.

Border checks between Turkey and Bulgaria

All passengers travelling between the Turkish and Bulgarian border might face delays due to border controls. Passengers might be asked to leave the bus with all their belongings to give the officers the possibility to inspect the vehicle.

We apologise for any inconvenience you might face and we remind you that FlixBus does not have any control on that.

Please contact KamilKoc for any information.

Bus equipment and facilities

Each bus is equipped with air conditioning, toilet, reading lights and comfortable seats. In addition, we offer free Wi-Fi, and some buses also have refreshments and snacks, sockets, USB ports.

During a trip, it is possible that the bus may travel though an area with limited reception, and as a consequence it may not be possible for all passengers to access the internet simultaneously. In rare cases, the free Wi-Fi and power outlets may not be available, for example if a replacement vehicle is in use or if we sell tickets as a sales partner.

Smoking breaks and stop-offs

Some of our trips have breaks planned into the schedule for the purposes of providing driving breaks and rest periods for the drivers. However, our aim is to get you to your destination as quickly as possible, which is why we don't schedule any other type of break.

Smoking isn't permitted on our buses. E-cigarettes are also not permitted. You may get off the bus at scheduled stops and during the scheduled breaks. Please let the bus driver know in advance and don't move too far away from the bus to ensure that it doesn’t leave without you. The bus driver will let you know how long the bus will remain at the stop.
