Travelling with children
Planning a family trip? Here's what you need to do before you travel with children on FlixBus — from booking the right ticket and reserving seats, to making sure you have the correct child seat and understanding the rules for unaccompanied minors.

I want to know about children's discounts
At the point of booking, we calculate the cheapest price for you out of all of the available prices and discounts.
If a child receives the same fare as an adult, it may indicate that child-specific discounts are not available for the selected trip.
I want to travel with children
The safety of our little passengers is especially important to us. Therefore, please note the following:
Children up to 3 years of age, must be seated in a suitable child seat that can be secured with a 2-point seat belt. Parents traveling with children must bring their own child car seat with a seat belt adapter. Please understand that this is solely your responsibility. Passengers with children who don't have the child seat will be denied boarding. To make sure that you sit together, reserve a seat for yourself and your child.
Child seats are no longer required in North America, but highly recommended. More information is available on the relevant T&C.
Children up to 10 years must always be accompanied by an adult.
In North America, children under 16 must be accompanied by a traveler 16+ (18+ in Mexico). Additional details can be checked in our T&C.
In Australia, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18+.
Children between 10 and 15 years can travel alone with a declaration of consent from their parent or guardian (you agree to the conditions by clicking the control field during booking process).

Please understand that our bus drivers cannot provide any supervision for children.
Children may only travel alone on domestic routes, without changes and between 6:00 am – 10:00 pm.
From the age of 15, children may travel alone without any restrictions. Please just make sure that your child has all necessary documents.
In North America, children under 16 may not travel unaccompanied on any routes. T&C of travel in North America are available here.
I want to transport a stroller
For our younger guests, FlixBus is happy to transport foldable strollers for free. Please inform us at the earliest 48 hours before departure using the contact button below.
Measurements: height + width + depth up to 240 cm. Weight of up to 30 kg.
For journeys in Australia, it is not necessary to inform us in advance that you will be travelling with a foldable stroller.
My ride is operated by an external partner
Rides operated by external partners might have different travel policies.
How to identify partner-operated rides
- During the booking process:
- Desktop: On the top right side of the booking page
- Mobile Web and Apps: Click the arrow to show trip details before entering booking information, or check the bottom of the booking page (where you fill out the booking details)
